Who is Pokémon Pokopia’s co-director alongside Shigeru Ohmori?

Takuto Edagawa co-directed Pokémon Pokopia alongside Shigeru Ohmori.

Edagawa served as the game’s chief director, while Ohmori was credited as concept and senior director. Their roles reflect the project’s collaboration between Pokémon specialists and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force team.

Shigeru Ohmori conceived Pokopia during the development of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. His early work as a map designer on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire led him to consider how appealing it would be for players to create their own Pokémon habitats.

Omega Force joined the project because of its experience with sandbox games. This development structure combined Ohmori’s Pokémon vision with the practical direction needed for a world focused on building, crafting, and environmental restoration. Takuto Edagawa is therefore distinct from producers such as Hisashi Koinuma and the game’s writer, Masao Taya.
