Rashmi Sinha is listed as the founder of SlideShare, the presentation-sharing service LinkedIn owned from 2012 to 2020. She was SlideShare’s CEO and co-founder.
Sinha built the company with her husband, Jonathan Boutelle, and her brother, Amit Ranjan. Boutelle served as SlideShare’s co-founder and chief technology officer, while Sinha became the public-facing leader of the business. The service launched in 2006 to let people upload and share presentations online.
SlideShare’s ownership history helps explain the question: LinkedIn announced its acquisition in 2012, and Scribd acquired the service in 2020. The founder is therefore not LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman or another technology executive associated with the parent company. Sinha was also recognized by Fast Company in 2008 among its Top 10 Women Influencers in Web 2.0.
