Who is Lightning McQueen’s younger racing rival in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen’s younger racing rival in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of high-performance racers. He is faster, highly analytical, and supported by advanced training and simulation technology. His dominance forces McQueen to confront the possibility that experience alone may no longer be enough to remain competitive.

Cars 3 centers on McQueen’s attempt to recover from a serious crash and prepare for a comeback. He receives help from Cruz Ramirez, a trainer who eventually becomes central to the film’s resolution. Storm’s role creates the competitive pressure that drives McQueen’s change in outlook.

The character is voiced by Armie Hammer. Jackson Storm is not the same racer as Chick Hicks, McQueen’s principal rival in the first Cars film. Storm belongs to a later racing generation and is presented as the symbol of technological change in the sport.
