Who is Eric Cartman's mother?
Answer
Liane Cartman
Answer
Liane Cartman
Eric Cartman’s mother is Liane Cartman.
Liane is South Park’s recurring single mother who raises Eric in the fictional Colorado town. She first appears in the series premiere, “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe,” and quickly becomes one of the show’s most recognizable parents. Her gentle manner contrasts sharply with Eric’s manipulative, selfish and frequently cruel behavior.
Early episodes portray Liane as indulgent and unusually permissive. She often gives in to Eric’s demands, which helps explain why he expects adults to obey him. Later stories show her trying to set firmer boundaries, especially as Eric’s behavior becomes more extreme.
A major continuity joke complicates the family history. “Cartman’s Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut” falsely suggests that Liane is also Eric’s biological father, while the season 14 episodes “200” and “201” reveal that the story was a cover-up. The show ultimately identifies former Denver Broncos player Jack Tenorman as Eric’s biological father, but Liane remains his mother and primary parent.
