Who hosted the 2021 American Music Awards?

Who hosted the 2021 American Music Awards? Cardi B hosted the ceremony. The 49th American Music Awards took place on November 21, 2021, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with Cardi B serving as the main-show host.

Her hosting role was notable because she also appeared as a nominated and performing artist. The ceremony included presentations, introductions, and live performances, so hosting involved guiding the broadcast as well as connecting its many musical segments. Cardi B introduced several acts during the show, including Coldplay and BTS.

The 2021 ceremony also marked a milestone in the AMAs’ hosting history: Cardi B followed Queen Latifah as only the second female rapper to host the event. LL Cool J hosted the 2022 ceremony, which likely explains one common mix-up. Wayne Brady and Taraji P. Henson have hosted other major television events, but neither hosted the 2021 American Music Awards.
