Who holds the women's 100m hurdles world record?

Tobi Amusan holds the women's 100m hurdles world record.

The Nigerian hurdler ran 12.12 seconds in the semifinal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Her performance broke the previous record of 12.20 seconds, set by American Kendra Harrison in 2016, and made Amusan Nigeria's first world-record holder in athletics.

Amusan then won the world title in the final, clocking 12.06 seconds. That faster time does not count as a world record because the tailwind was +2.5 meters per second, above the legal limit of +2.0 m/s. This is a common source of confusion: the officially recognized record is 12.12, not 12.06.

The 100m hurdles event uses ten hurdles, and the women's hurdles are 0.84 meters high. Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Sally Pearson and Kendra Harrison are major champions or former record holders, but none currently owns the world record.
