Who holds the record for most consecutive title defenses in the women's bantamweight division?

The story behind the answer

Ronda Rousey holds the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC women’s bantamweight history, with six successful defenses. Her run began when she defended the inaugural UFC women’s bantamweight championship against Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 in February 2013.

Rousey followed that victory with five more defenses against Sara McMann, Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano, Bethe Correia, and the returning Miesha Tate. Most of those fights ended rapidly by armbar or knockout, helping make Rousey one of the UFC’s defining early stars.

She lost the title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, ending her reign. Amanda Nunes later became the division’s long-reigning champion and made five successful bantamweight defenses, but that total remains one short of Rousey’s six. Nunes’ additional featherweight defenses do not change the bantamweight record.
