Who has taken the most wickets in IPL history?
Answer
Yuzvendra Chahal
Answer
Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal has taken the most wickets in IPL history. The Indian leg-spinner became the first bowler to reach 200 IPL wickets, establishing a record built across several successful franchises.
Chahal made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2013 but became a major force after joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2014. Across eight seasons with RCB, he took 139 wickets, becoming the club’s leading wicket-taker. He later played for Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
The usual confusion concerns earlier record-holders. Lasith Malinga, Amit Mishra and Dwayne Bravo all dominated the wicket charts at different stages, but Chahal eventually surpassed them. His tally is based on IPL wickets, not combined figures from international or domestic cricket.
