Who founded Huawei in Shenzhen in 1987?

Ren Zhengfei founded Huawei in Shenzhen in 1987.

Ren Zhengfei, a former engineer in the People's Liberation Army, established Huawei as a private company initially focused on selling telephone-network equipment. Its name is commonly written as Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

The company later became a major supplier of telecommunications infrastructure and a global producer of smartphones and other consumer electronics. Huawei's early growth was strongly connected to China's expanding communications market and the development of domestic technical capability.

Huawei is often confused with Tencent because both companies are associated with Shenzhen. Tencent was founded by Pony Ma and colleagues in 1998, whereas Huawei was founded by Ren Zhengfei more than a decade earlier. Jack Ma founded Alibaba, not Huawei.
