Who founded Chick-fil-A, the American fried-chicken restaurant chain?
Answer
S. Truett Cathy
Answer
S. Truett Cathy
S. Truett Cathy founded Chick-fil-A, the American fried-chicken restaurant chain.
Cathy opened the Dwarf Grill in Hapeville, Georgia, with his brother in 1946. The restaurant later became known as the Dwarf House and helped establish the food business that eventually produced Chick-fil-A.
In 1964, Cathy introduced the chicken sandwich that became the foundation of Chick-fil-A’s modern menu. The first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in 1967 at an Atlanta shopping mall. Cathy’s business policies, including closing restaurants on Sundays, became notable parts of the company’s identity.
Harland Sanders is the founder associated with KFC, while Al Copeland founded Popeyes, so those names are common mix-ups in fried-chicken trivia. Cathy remained closely associated with Chick-fil-A until his death in 2014, and the company continued as a privately held family-linked business.
