Jay-Z features with Beyoncé on the 2003 hit “Crazy in Love.”
The song was released as the lead single from Beyoncé's debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. It was produced by Rich Harrison and Beyoncé and incorporates a prominent horn sample from “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)” by the Chi-Lites.
Jay-Z contributes a rap verse, giving the track a contrast between Beyoncé's forceful sung sections and his rhythmic delivery. The song's arrangement, brass hook, and energetic video helped establish Beyoncé's solo sound after her years with Destiny's Child.
“Crazy in Love” became Beyoncé's first number-one single as a solo artist in the United States. It also won Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2004. Beyoncé and Jay-Z later married in 2008 and collaborated on additional recordings.
