Who edited The Odyssey?
Answer
Jennifer Lame
Answer
Jennifer Lame
Jennifer Lame edited The Odyssey.
Film editing determines how performances, action, locations, sound, and visual effects are assembled into the finished story. For a sprawling adventure about Odysseus’s journey home, Lame’s work was especially important in organizing multiple settings, mythological encounters, battle material, and the film’s shifting sense of time and distance.
Lame became one of Christopher Nolan’s recurring collaborators after editing Tenet and Oppenheimer. She also edited films including Manchester by the Sea, Hereditary, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Marriage Story. Her work is often associated with managing complex emotional and structural material while preserving a strong sense of momentum.
The editor is sometimes confused with Maryann Brandon, Thelma Schoonmaker, or Lee Smith because all three are highly respected editors with major blockbuster credits. Lee Smith previously edited several Nolan films, including Inception and Dunkirk, while Lame took over the editing role for Nolan’s later productions. The Odyssey therefore continued Nolan’s tradition of working with specialist editors familiar with his demanding, large-scale storytelling.
