Who directed the season four finale Win, Lose, or Draw?
Answer
Michael Schur
Answer
Michael Schur
Michael Schur directed the season four finale, “Win, Lose, or Draw.”
The episode is the 22nd installment of season four and the 68th episode overall. It originally aired on NBC on May 10, 2012, following Leslie Knope and Bobby Newport’s fiercely contested Pawnee City Council election. A narrow initial result triggers a recount, eventually confirming Leslie’s victory.
Schur also wrote the episode and served as Parks and Recreation’s showrunner. His dual role was unusual but not unique in the series: he helped shape the show’s long-running political storylines, including Leslie’s campaign, Ben Wyatt’s career choices, and Ron Swanson’s changing role in city government.
The title refers to the election uncertainty, but the finale resolves several other plots. Ben accepts a job in Washington, D.C.; Ron turns down the assistant city manager position; and Tom and Ann briefly reunite after the results party. The director is sometimes confused with regular episode directors Dean Holland, Randall Einhorn, or Tristram Shapeero.
