Who directed the first Assassin's Creed video game?
Answer
Patrice Désilets
Answer
Patrice Désilets
Patrice Désilets directed the first Assassin's Creed video game.
Désilets served as creative director on the project at Ubisoft Montreal. The game was developed from a team working with ideas that evolved from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, but it became a new intellectual property centered on historical settings, stealth, parkour, and the Assassin-Templar conflict.
Jade Raymond was the game's producer, while Corey May wrote the script. These roles are sometimes mixed up because all three were prominent in the game's development and public promotion. Désilets is specifically credited as the director.
The original Assassin's Creed launched in 2007 and introduced Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. Désilets later worked on Assassin's Creed II before leaving Ubisoft and subsequently helping create other historical action games.
