Who directed the 2018 film Tomb Raider?
Answer
Roar Uthaug
Answer
Roar Uthaug
Roar Uthaug directed the 2018 film Tomb Raider.
Uthaug is a Norwegian filmmaker, and Tomb Raider became his first English-language feature. The movie adapts elements from the 2013 game reboot, including Lara’s expedition to the lost island of Yamatai and her search for her missing father. Alicia Vikander played Lara Croft, with Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu in supporting roles.
The film’s director is easy to confuse with the directors of earlier Tomb Raider movies. Simon West directed Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001, while Jan de Bont directed Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life in 2003. The 2018 film therefore represents a new cinematic continuity rather than a third chapter in Jolie’s two-film series.
