Who directed Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)?

The story behind the answer

James Cameron directed Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991).

The film is the sequel to The Terminator and reunites Cameron with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who returns as a reprogrammed version of the T-800. Linda Hamilton also returns as Sarah Connor, while Edward Furlong plays her son, John Connor.

Terminator 2 was notable for its ambitious use of computer-generated imagery, especially the liquid-metal T-1000 played by Robert Patrick. Its visual-effects work helped establish digital effects as a major part of big-budget filmmaking.

Cameron had directed the original The Terminator in 1984, but the sequel expanded the story and changed the relationship between the machine and the Connors. The movie won four Academy Awards, including Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects.
