Answer
Steven Spielberg
Answer
Steven Spielberg
Steven Spielberg directed Schindler’s List (1993).
The historical drama follows German industrialist Oskar Schindler, who employed Jewish workers during the Holocaust and ultimately helped save many of them from extermination. Liam Neeson plays Schindler, while Ben Kingsley portrays accountant Itzhak Stern and Ralph Fiennes plays camp commandant Amon Göth.
Spielberg filmed much of the movie in black and white, using selective color in a few important moments. The production was shot largely in and around Kraków, Poland, including locations connected with the city’s wartime history. The film is based partly on Thomas Keneally’s 1982 novel Schindler’s Ark.
Schindler’s List won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It is sometimes confused with other Holocaust dramas directed by major filmmakers, but Spielberg’s direction is specifically associated with this 1993 film.
