Who directed Pixar's Cars 2 together with Brad Lewis?

The story behind the answer

John Lasseter directed Pixar's Cars 2 together with Brad Lewis.

Lasseter had directed the original Cars and returned for the sequel, while Lewis joined him as co-director. Lewis had previously produced Pixar's Ratatouille, giving him substantial experience on a major feature before taking the co-directing role.

Cars 2 expands the story beyond Radiator Springs. Lightning McQueen enters the World Grand Prix, a global racing competition organized by oil entrepreneur Miles Axlerod. Mater becomes involved in an international espionage plot, so the sequel combines racing with spy-movie conventions and visits locations including Tokyo, Porto Corso, and London.

The sequel was released in 2011 and was Pixar's twelfth feature film. Unlike the first Cars, which concentrates heavily on Lightning's personal growth and the history of Radiator Springs, Cars 2 gives Mater a much larger role. The film's international structure also explains why its cast includes racers, agents, and vehicles from several countries.
