Who directed Pixar’s 2011 film Cars 2?
Answer
John Lasseter
Answer
John Lasseter
John Lasseter directed Pixar’s 2011 film Cars 2.
Cars 2 is the second feature in the Cars series and expands the setting beyond Radiator Springs. Lightning McQueen enters the World Grand Prix, while Mater becomes involved in an international spy adventure after being mistaken for a secret agent.
Lasseter had also directed the original Cars. For Cars 2, he shared directing credit with Brad Lewis, who had previously worked as a producer on Ratatouille. The film combined the series’ racing themes with a spy-film structure involving secret technology, international locations, and competing fuel interests.
Cars 2 was released in 2011 and became Pixar’s first sequel after Toy Story 3 to follow an earlier franchise installment. It received a more mixed critical response than the first Cars, although it remained a major commercial release and expanded the franchise’s merchandise and global setting.
