Answer
John Singleton
Answer
John Singleton
Who directed 2 Fast 2 Furious? John Singleton directed 2 Fast 2 Furious. Released in 2003, it was the second main film in the Fast & Furious franchise and the first entry made without Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto as a central character.
Singleton brought a different perspective to the series after directing films such as Boyz n the Hood and Higher Learning. His version shifts the action from Los Angeles to Miami and places Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner alongside newcomer Roman Pearce, played by Tyrese Gibson. The plot follows the pair as they work with undercover agent Monica Fuentes to bring down drug lord Carter Verone.
The film’s production also helped establish several major franchise elements. Tyrese Gibson joined the series as Roman, while Chris “Ludacris” Bridges appeared as Tej Parker. Although Justin Lin later became closely associated with the franchise after directing Tokyo Drift and several subsequent films, he did not direct this installment. John Singleton therefore remains the sole director of 2 Fast 2 Furious.
