Who created the McDonald’s “Big Mac” jingle listing the burger’s ingredients?

The story behind the answer

Keith Reinhard created the McDonald’s “Big Mac” jingle listing the burger’s ingredients.

The jingle used the words “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun.” Its compact rhythm made the sandwich’s composition easy to memorize and gave McDonald’s one of its most enduring pieces of product branding.

Reinhard was an advertising executive associated with the campaign. The jingle mattered because it converted a factual ingredient list into a catchy verbal signature, allowing customers to recall the sandwich through advertising rather than through a conventional product description.

The jingle is sometimes attributed to the sandwich’s creator, Jim Delligatti, but Delligatti developed the Big Mac itself. Ray Kroc was McDonald’s corporate leader, while Willard Scott played the original Ronald McDonald in television advertising.
