Who created the comic series The Adventures of Tintin?

The story behind the answer

Hergé created the comic series The Adventures of Tintin.

Hergé was the pen name of Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi. Tintin first appeared in 1929 in Le Petit Vingtième, a Belgian newspaper supplement. The young reporter travels internationally with his dog Snowy and encounters mysteries, political conflicts, and criminal conspiracies.

The series is known for Hergé’s ligne claire, or clear-line, drawing style, which uses clean outlines and relatively flat colors. Important recurring characters include Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson and Thompson, and Bianca Castafiore.

Tintin’s adventures have been translated widely and adapted into films, television, theater, and games. Some early stories contain colonial stereotypes and other dated attitudes, so modern readers often consider them in their historical context.
