Who created the comic-book series Sin City?

The story behind the answer

Frank Miller created the comic-book series Sin City.

Sin City is an anthology of hard-boiled crime stories set in the fictional Basin City, a corrupt urban environment commonly nicknamed Sin City. Miller wrote, drew, and often inked the series, using stark black-and-white artwork with selective color to create a distinctive neo-noir style.

The first story, The Hard Goodbye, began publication through Dark Horse Comics in 1991. It introduced Marv, one of the series’ most recognizable characters. Later stories followed figures such as Dwight McCarthy and Nancy Callahan, with overlapping locations and events linking the fictional city.

The 2005 film Sin City adapted several stories and was co-directed by Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, and Quentin Tarantino. The film’s title and visual style helped introduce Miller’s comic world to a much wider audience, but the original series remains a comics work created by Miller.
