Who composed the score for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?
Answer
Nicholas Hooper
Answer
Nicholas Hooper
Nicholas Hooper composed the score for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Half-Blood Prince was the sixth Harry Potter film and was released in 2009. Hooper had previously composed the music for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, making him the only composer besides John Williams to score consecutive films in the main series.
His score includes themes associated with Harry’s investigation of Lord Voldemort’s past, the teenage characters’ relationships and the increasingly serious danger facing Hogwarts. The music supports the film’s darker, more reflective tone.
John Williams is often selected by mistake because he wrote the famous original themes and scored the first three films. Patrick Doyle composed Goblet of Fire, while Alexandre Desplat scored both parts of Deathly Hallows.
