Who composed the musical score for the 2019 film Dark Phoenix?

Hans Zimmer composed the musical score for the 2019 film Dark Phoenix.

Zimmer created the film’s original music for director Simon Kinberg’s story about Jean Grey’s increasingly dangerous Phoenix powers. The score combines large-scale orchestral writing with electronic textures, supporting the movie’s cosmic action and emotional drama.

Dark Phoenix was released on June 7, 2019. Sophie Turner played Jean Grey, while James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult returned as other members of the X-Men ensemble. The movie adapts elements associated with the Dark Phoenix storyline from Marvel Comics.

John Ottman composed the score for X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse, making him a frequent source of confusion. Michael Kamen scored X-Men and X2, while Henry Jackman scored X-Men: First Class. Zimmer’s work on Dark Phoenix was his first score for an X-Men film.
