Who co-produced There Is Nothing Left to Lose with Foo Fighters?
Answer
Adam Kasper
Answer
Adam Kasper
Adam Kasper co-produced There Is Nothing Left to Lose with Foo Fighters.
Kasper helped Dave Grohl establish the recording setup in the basement of Grohl’s Alexandria, Virginia, home. The unusual environment suited the album’s informal production: the band worked without heavy record-company involvement and aimed for a direct, unpolished sound.
The album’s production credit is shared by Foo Fighters and Kasper. Kasper also handled recording and mixing on several tracks, while Andy Wallace mixed others, including “Learn to Fly,” “Aurora,” and “Live-In Skin.” This division can make the album’s credits look more complicated than the simple co-producer answer suggests.
The record was released in 1999 after Foo Fighters had become a trio of Grohl, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins. It went on to win the band’s first Grammy, for Best Rock Album, in 2001. Butch Vig is associated with later Foo Fighters work, not this album.
