Which Foo Fighters EP was recorded at Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin, Texas?

The story behind the answer

The Foo Fighters EP recorded at Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin, Texas, was Saint Cecilia.

The five-song EP grew out of an informal recording session during the band’s two-weekend appearance at the Austin City Limits festival in October 2015. Instead of using a conventional studio, Foo Fighters worked at the Austin hotel that gave the project its name, capturing unfinished ideas and newly developed performances.

Saint Cecilia was released as a free digital download on November 23, 2015. It was initially conceived as a thank-you gift for fans at the end of the Sonic Highways touring cycle, but the Paris terrorist attacks led the band to dedicate the release to the victims and their families.

The EP contains “Saint Cecilia,” “Sean,” “Savior Breath,” “Iron Rooster,” and “The Neverending Sigh.” Some finishing work also took place at Studio 606, so the hotel is best understood as the defining recording location rather than necessarily the only room used for every final production step.
