Who co-developed Pokémon Pokopia with Omega Force?
Answer
Game Freak
Answer
Game Freak
Game Freak co-developed Pokémon Pokopia with Omega Force.
Game Freak is the Pokémon company best known for developing many main-series Pokémon games. For Pokopia, it worked alongside Omega Force, a studio within Koei Tecmo with experience in sandbox-style game development. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company published the title, but neither is listed as its co-developer.
The partnership reflected the unusual design of Pokopia. The game focuses on building, crafting, habitat creation, and social simulation instead of making Pokémon battles the central activity. Game Freak supplied Pokémon expertise, while Omega Force brought relevant experience from games such as Dragon Quest Builders 2.
Shigeru Ohmori conceived the project during Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s development. He wanted players to create their own Pokémon habitats, drawing partly on his earlier work as a map designer for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Omega Force joined after The Pokémon Company recommended the studio for its sandbox experience.
