Who charted with the hit single "Count On Me" in 1996? Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans charted together with it.

The song was recorded for the soundtrack to the 1995 film Waiting to Exhale, in which Houston also appeared. Written by Chaka Khan, James Harris III, and Terry Lewis, it is a supportive friendship ballad built around the promise of being there for someone through difficult times.

"Count On Me" was credited to Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans, making it a notable meeting of mainstream pop and contemporary gospel. It became a significant 1996 hit, reaching number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping Billboard's Adult R&B Songs chart.

A common mix-up is confusing this song with Houston's solo soundtrack hit "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," which also came from Waiting to Exhale. CeCe Winans is a gospel singer and one half of the influential brother-sister duo BeBe & CeCe Winans.
