Who became the youngest Album of the Year winner at the Grammys in 2020?

The story behind the answer

Billie Eilish became the youngest Album of the Year winner at the Grammys in 2020.

Eilish was 18 when her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, won Album of the Year at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. She also won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist, making her the first woman and the second artist overall to win the four major general-field awards at one ceremony.

Before Eilish, Taylor Swift had been the youngest Album of the Year winner, taking the prize at age 20 for Fearless in 2010. Eilish’s 2020 victory therefore changed a widely cited age record.

The record concerns the performer credited with the winning album. The album’s producer, Finneas, also received several awards, but he is not the answer to the youngest Album of the Year winner question.
