Who became Falcons head coach after leading Cleveland from 2020 to 2025?

Kevin Stefanski became the Atlanta Falcons’ head coach after leading the Cleveland Browns from 2020 through 2025.

The Falcons hired Stefanski on January 17, 2026, after firing Raheem Morris. The move gave Stefanski his second NFL head-coaching job. He had previously spent six seasons in Cleveland, where he helped end the Browns’ long playoff drought in his first year.

Stefanski arrived in Cleveland after working for the Minnesota Vikings, including as offensive coordinator. In 2020, he guided the Browns to an 11–5 record and their first playoff appearance since 2002, then earned AP NFL Coach of the Year honors. Cleveland also reached the postseason in 2023, giving him two playoff appearances with the franchise.

A common mix-up is confusing Stefanski with Arthur Smith or Raheem Morris, both recent Falcons head coaches. Smith coached Atlanta from 2021 to 2023, while Morris led the team in 2024 and 2025 before Stefanski replaced him.
