Which weapon does Gru plan to use to steal the Moon in Despicable Me?

Gru plans to use a shrink ray to steal the Moon in Despicable Me. The device is central to his attempt to prove himself as the world's greatest supervillain after Vector steals the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Gru first needs to obtain the shrink ray before the Bank of Evil will finance his moon-heist plan. He steals it from a research base in Southeast Asia, but Vector ambushes him and takes the weapon. Gru later uses the girls he adopts—Margo, Edith, and Agnes—to help him infiltrate Vector's fortress and recover it.

The shrink ray works, but its effects are temporary. Dr. Nefario discovers that the larger the object, the faster it returns to its original size. That limitation becomes crucial after Gru shrinks the Moon and Vector tries to use it as leverage. The Moon eventually returns to normal size and is restored to orbit. The Freeze Ray, Jelly Gun, and Fart Gun are also associated with Gru's arsenal, but they are not the weapon used for the Moon heist.
