Which waterfall has the world’s highest uninterrupted drop?
Answer
Angel Falls
Answer
Angel Falls
Angel Falls has the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall drop.
It plunges 807 metres in a single uninterrupted descent from Auyán-tepui in Venezuela’s Guiana Highlands. The total height of the waterfall is 979 metres when its smaller cascades are included.
The waterfall is called Kerepakupai Merú in the Pemón language, often translated as “waterfall of the deepest place.” The English name Angel Falls comes from American aviator Jimmie Angel, whose aircraft landed on the summit of Auyán-tepui in 1937.
Water from the Churún River flows over the plateau edge and becomes the falls. Victoria Falls is wider and Niagara Falls is famous for its volume and tourism, but neither has Angel Falls’ uninterrupted vertical drop.
