Natla is introduced as a wealthy businesswoman who hires Lara Croft to locate an ancient artifact. The story later reveals that she is an ancient Atlantean ruler who seeks to use the Scion’s power for her own purposes.

The game’s narrative takes Lara through Peru, Greece, Egypt, and the lost continent of Atlantis. Its final stages reveal Natla’s identity and culminate in a confrontation with her and the creatures created by the Scion.
