Which venue hosted UFC 205, the UFC's first New York City event?

UFC 205, the UFC's first event in New York City, was held at Madison Square Garden. The historic November 12, 2016 card was titled UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor and took place in Manhattan.

New York had long been a major sports market, but professional mixed martial arts was restricted there until legislation and regulatory changes allowed events in 2016. The UFC marked the breakthrough with a championship-heavy card at Madison Square Garden, one of the world's most famous indoor arenas.

Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez by second-round technical knockout to win the UFC lightweight title and become the first fighter to hold two UFC championships simultaneously. The event also featured title fights involving Tyron Woodley and Joanna Jędrzejczyk, helping make the New York debut a landmark night.
