Which university did Georgia O'Keeffe attend for formal art training from 1905 to 1906?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe attended the Art Institute of Chicago from 1905 to 1906.

The institution, formally the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, was one of the places where O'Keeffe received conventional academic art training. She studied drawing and painting there before illness interrupted her education. She later attended the Art Students League in New York and studied with William Merritt Chase.

The Art Institute of Chicago should not be confused with the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where O'Keeffe studied earlier, or with the University of Virginia, where she later taught. These institutions belong to different stages of her education and career.

Although O'Keeffe eventually became famous for breaking away from academic conventions, her early training gave her a foundation in observation and technique. Her later move toward abstraction developed through teaching, experimentation, and exposure to modernist ideas rather than appearing fully formed at the beginning of her education.
