Which UK certification did Taylor Swift’s “august” receive?

Taylor Swift’s “august” received a 2× Platinum certification in the United Kingdom.

The certification table for the song lists the United Kingdom’s award as 2× Platinum, based on 1,200,000 certified units. Certification units can combine sales and equivalent streaming activity under the rules used by the relevant industry organization.

The UK award is not the same as the song’s chart position. “august” reached number 78 on the UK Singles Chart during a later period, while its certification reflects accumulated consumption rather than a single week’s ranking.

The track also earned certifications in several other markets, including 4× Platinum in Australia and 3× Platinum in New Zealand. Those awards use each country’s own certification system, so the UK result should not be generalized to every territory.
