Which UFC champion recorded the longest unbeaten streak in UFC history?

The story behind the answer

Jon Jones recorded the longest unbeaten streak in UFC history, spanning 19 consecutive fights without a loss.

Jones’s UFC unbeaten run began with his debut victory over André Gusmão at UFC 87 in August 2008. It continued through his light heavyweight championship reign and included wins over future or former champions such as Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, and Daniel Cormier.

The streak is counted as 19 fights without a defeat, although Jones’s official record includes a no contest against Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 after the result was overturned. His only professional loss came by disqualification against Matt Hamill in 2009, so it is not counted as a conventional sporting defeat.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired undefeated at 29–0, but his UFC unbeaten streak contained 13 UFC wins. Anderson Silva’s famous UFC run lasted 16 fights without a loss, making Jones’s UFC total the longer streak.
