Which two Taylor Swift collaborators joined her onstage during the 2021 Grammys performance of “august”?

Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner joined Taylor Swift during her 2021 Grammys performance of “august.”

The performance took place at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021. Swift performed “Cardigan,” “august,” and “willow” as a medley, with Antonoff and Dessner providing accompaniment. It was the first time all three had performed together publicly.

Both musicians were central to the sound and creation of Folklore. Antonoff co-wrote and co-produced “august” with Swift, while Dessner produced many Folklore tracks and helped establish the album’s atmospheric, folk-influenced palette. Their live appearance connected the album’s studio collaboration with its visual performance style.

Joe Alwyn is a plausible distractor because he received production credit on “august,” but he did not join Swift for this Grammy performance. Justin Vernon also worked with Swift on Folklore, most notably on “Exile,” but he was not one of the two collaborators onstage for this medley.
