Which two-player game in the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater colors level objects by trick score?

The story behind the answer

In the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Graffiti is the two-player game that colors level objects by trick score.

Graffiti turns the environment into a territory contest. Each player performs tricks on objects such as ramps, rails, or other marked features, changing them to the player’s color. If the other player later performs a higher-scoring trick on the same object, its color changes again. The winner is the player who claims the greatest number of objects when the session ends.

This is different from Trick Attack, which simply rewards the highest accumulated score from chained tricks. HORSE uses alternating rounds: the player with the lower score receives a letter, and collecting the whole word loses. Free Skate, meanwhile, is not a competitive scoring game in the original version; it is not one of that game’s listed multiplayer modes.

Graffiti’s competitive design rewards both technical skating and route planning. Players must notice which objects have already been claimed, seek valuable features, and interrupt an opponent’s lead by beating an earlier score. The concept became a signature multiplayer idea in the series.
