Which two drummers played on Nirvana's first album, "Bleach"?

The story behind the answer

Nirvana’s first album, “Bleach,” featured drummers Dale Crover and Chad Channing. Crover, the Melvins drummer, played on three songs—“Floyd the Barber,” “Paper Cuts,” and “Downer”—recorded during an earlier 1988 session. Those recordings were retained for the final album even after Channing joined Nirvana.

Channing played drums on most of the album’s remaining tracks during the main sessions at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle in December 1988 and January 1989. He was Nirvana’s regular drummer at the time and remained with the band through the recording of much of its early material.

A common mix-up involves Jason Everman, who appears in “Bleach” artwork and was credited on the sleeve. Everman did not perform on the album; he briefly joined Nirvana as a guitarist and helped finance the recording. “Bleach” was released by Sub Pop on June 15, 1989, before Nirvana became internationally famous with “Nevermind.”
