Which two creators are credited with creating the comic series Asterix?

The story behind the answer

René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo created the comic series Asterix.

Asterix first appeared in the French magazine Pilote in 1959. Goscinny wrote the stories and Uderzo illustrated them, creating a humorous world about a small Gaulish village resisting Roman rule in 50 BC.

The series combines historical settings with wordplay, satire, cultural jokes, and recurring characters such as Obelix, Getafix, and Vitalstatistix. Asterix and Obelix gain extraordinary strength from the village druid’s magic potion, although Obelix fell into the cauldron as a child and does not need to drink it.

Goscinny died in 1977. Uderzo then continued writing and drawing Asterix stories, and later albums were created by other teams. The series has become one of the best-known French comics internationally.
