Which twin horsemen are the divine physicians of the gods?

The story behind the answer

The Ashvins are the twin horsemen who serve as the divine physicians of the gods in Vedic tradition.

Also called the Ashvini Kumaras, the Ashvins are usually named Nasatya and Dasra. The Rigveda portrays them as youthful riders in a swift chariot, arriving at dawn to rescue people from danger, restore health, and perform extraordinary acts of healing. Their name is connected with horses, and their equestrian imagery is central to their identity.

Their association with medicine is broader than simply treating illness. Vedic hymns credit them with rescuing the shipwrecked, restoring youth, helping the blind or maimed, and reviving those near death. They are closely linked with Ushas, the dawn goddess, and are among the earliest deities invoked in the morning rituals.

The Ashvins also appear in the Mahabharata. Their divine sons are the Pandava twins Nakula and Sahadeva, born to Madri through divine conception. They are sometimes confused with the Maruts or Vasus, but those groups have different identities and functions.
