Which TV series featured Taylor Swift’s “august” during its second season?

The Summer I Turned Pretty featured Taylor Swift’s “august” during its second season.

The Amazon Prime Video coming-of-age series is based on Jenny Han’s novel trilogy and follows Belly Conklin’s relationships with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah. Its soundtrack uses prominent pop songs to underline emotional turning points, and Taylor Swift’s music became a recurring part of the show’s musical identity.

Season two included “august” in its trailers and episodes, alongside other Swift songs such as “Back to December (Taylor’s Version),” “Last Kiss (Taylor’s Version),” “Invisible String,” “Sweet Nothing,” and “Exile.” This placement helped connect the song with a new audience beyond listeners who first discovered it on Folklore.

The show’s summer setting also reinforced the song’s annual August association. The series premiered in 2022, while its second season debuted in 2023, the same period when online videos helped make “august” a recurring seasonal soundtrack.
