Which traditional Korean garment is commonly worn during Chuseok family gatherings?

The story behind the answer

Hanbok is the traditional Korean garment commonly worn during Chuseok family gatherings.

Chuseok is a major family holiday, and some people wear hanbok when visiting relatives, attending ceremonies, or taking photographs. The clothing is recognized for its simple lines, bright colors, and separate upper and lower garments.

Modern hanbok can be more practical than historical styles, using lighter fabrics, shorter jackets, or simplified shapes. Wearing hanbok is not mandatory for Chuseok, however; many people celebrate in ordinary contemporary clothing.

Hanbok is also worn at weddings, first-birthday celebrations, cultural events, and certain ancestral rites. It should not be confused with the Japanese kimono or Chinese qipao, which belong to different clothing traditions.
