Answer
Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership is widely described as the world's largest free-trade agreement by GDP.
RCEP was signed on 15 November 2020 by 15 Asia-Pacific countries: the ten ASEAN members, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. India took part in negotiations but withdrew in 2019 and did not sign the agreement.
The pact entered into force on 1 January 2022, initially for ten ratifying countries. It combines and modernizes several existing ASEAN free-trade arrangements and establishes common rules for trade in goods, services, investment, e-commerce and intellectual property.
RCEP is sometimes confused with the CPTPP, another major Pacific trade pact. The two agreements overlap in membership, but RCEP includes China and does not include the United States or Canada.
