Which Tolkien character is known as the Lady of Lothlórien?

The story behind the answer

Galadriel is the Tolkien character known as the Lady of Lothlórien.

She rules Lothlórien with Celeborn and receives the Fellowship in the elven realm after their journey through Moria. Galadriel is one of the oldest and most powerful elves in The Lord of the Rings, and she possesses Nenya, one of the three Elven Rings of Power.

Galadriel is sometimes confused with Arwen because both are important female elves connected with noble lineages and with the story’s central heroes. Arwen is the daughter of Elrond and the beloved of Aragorn, whereas Galadriel is a much older figure whose history reaches back to the First Age and the early history of the Elves.
