NBC originally broadcast the sitcom Friends in the United States.
Friends premiered on September 22, 1994, as part of NBC’s Thursday-night comedy lineup. The network continued airing the series throughout its ten-season run, including the finale on May 6, 2004.
The show was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, with Kevin S. Bright serving as a major producer. Its NBC home placed it alongside other successful comedies and helped make the network’s Thursday schedule especially influential during the 1990s.
Viewers sometimes confuse NBC with Warner Bros. Television, which produced and distributed the program. Warner Bros. made the series, but NBC was the original U.S. broadcaster. Friends later became widely available through syndication and streaming platforms in many countries.
