The Tekken 2 newcomer that is a genetically altered boxing dinosaur is Alex.
Alex was created through the Mishima Zaibatsu’s genetic experiments, alongside Roger, the genetically modified boxing kangaroo. The experiments were conducted under Kazuya Mishima’s control, and both animals were intended as unusual combatants rather than realistic fighters.
Alex uses a boxing-based moveset and shares many attacks with Roger. The character’s dinosaur design is generally associated with a dromaeosaurid, giving Alex a raptor-like appearance. After escaping Kazuya’s plans, Alex and Roger encountered Armor King, who trained them in wrestling.
Alex is sometimes confused with Gon, another animal-like Tekken character, but Gon is a manga guest character added to the PlayStation version of Tekken 3. Alex debuted in Tekken 2 and later appeared in the non-canonical Tekken Tag Tournament games.
