Fnatic won the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major at DreamHack Winter 2013.
The tournament was held in Jönköping, Sweden, from 28 November to 1 December 2013. Fnatic defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 2–1 in the grand final, overturning a 0–1 deficit in the best-of-three series.
The event was the first CS:GO Major sponsored by Valve. It used a prize pool of $250,000, with the money supplied through sales of an in-game tournament sticker capsule. Fnatic’s victory made the organization the first champion in the modern CS:GO Major lineage.
The match is sometimes confused with later DreamHack or ESL Major finals, especially because Ninjas in Pyjamas dominated much of early CS:GO. However, NiP lost this particular final despite reaching it as one of the era’s strongest teams.
